Hands on the world imageWhen I stepped in to be President of the Board of Trustees at the Centre for Spiritual Living in  Toronto I had no idea of the challenges that would be before me.

My vision for the board was for us to have a mission statement of who we are and create a Code of Honour, a collective agreement on how we will conduct ourselves as a board and hold each other accountable to. That is now in place.

The next step was to create a vision for the Centre and a mandate of initiatives that would ensure our congregation’s needs were being met and we have financial stability so that we can then expand. Done!

What I didn’t know is that by having all of this in place and creating a strong team working together authentically, honestly, creatively, and in integrity would really be put to the test. Now I get to experience if a united team working from these core values brings together a Centre in financial crisis vs. dismantling the Centre.
