“The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning.”

Mitch Albom

PurposeWhen I went to NYC last week I enjoyed seeing a delightful and quirky Off Broadway show called Avenue Q. The show, using puppets, addresses and satirized the issues and anxieties of young adults on their own discovering that all their childhood beliefs that they could do anything and they were “special” is not the case. They too must discover their purpose and passion.

So how do you find your purpose in life? For me it has been a process and journey of experiences in which I have learned about myself that has shaped me into the person I am today. This in turn
led me to unexpected destinations that have turned out to be far better for me than I could have imagined.

Often people think that a certain “aha” will reveal their purpose for their time here and keep waiting for that to happen to them. I’ve found that fully living and loving my life, embracing all the coments, the highs and lows, have led me to my passion and purpose. Instead of waiting to discover your purpose get out into life, live fully now in your relationships, career, be in service to others, learn new things and step out of your comfort zone, and be grateful for all that you have everyday. Pray, meditate and open yourself up to knowing how brilliant, loving, loveable and unique you are. Your purpose will be revealed from within when you are open to receiving.

Despite what turns your road takes, remember to look for the gifts that await you at each intersection and enjoy the journey!
